When humans first began to band together as tribes of hunter gathers tools evolved. From gathering sticks to primitive spears for better hunting humans continued to evolve and change and began to learn to work the soil and developed tools for farming. Once we began farming, humans began to gather together and build small communities which were larger than the hunter gather groups of old. With this added development the need to defend the communities and the farms that provided food grew and so the development of weapons and armor came. As technology grew so did the communities until they became small city-states and small volunteer armies formed. It wasn’t until the Spartans that singularity, centralization, and a professional soldier/warrior developed. With them came the first professional, well trained, full-time army and began the development of strategies in warfare along with better weapons and armor. In time Our technology developed into what we have today. It was a hard and long journey but it is one that has not stopped as we are still traveling it.
